We have had a caregiver from Family inHome Caregiving for over a year and a half. The owner Richard Kuehn took personal responsibility for interviewing us, determining our needs and arranging for a suitable caregiver. The caregiver we were assigned reliably arrives and leaves on time. And has had almost no days of absences, and those few with advance notice. She is very good especially with any home care associated with personal care. She easily speaks and understands English. This company and Mr. Kuehn handles all billing, including Long Term Care insurance payments efficiently and transparently. We never have to submit care notes, billing, or any other paperwork. The office staff is readily available and handles inquiries with helpful courtesy. If there is any difficulty, you can contact Mr. Kuehn directly rather than dealing with someone who is not able or responsible for correcting problems.
Every family gets a Client Handbook that clearly explains services and mutual responsibilities. It has good advice for both the client and caregiver on how to work effectively together. The caregiver uses a mobile phone-based check-in and checkout system, so we do not need to be concerned with any time records. Mr. Kuehn gets objective customer evaluations by retaining a company to make a yearly review that goes to him anonymously. There is a brief and clear 2-page service agreement with the hourly rates for weekdays, weekends and time and a half for holidays. Our rates for nonmedical personal /home care are between $30 and $34 per hour with an annual cost of living increase. Rates may vary with type and level of service. The refundable service deposit is for one months estimated fees. We have had other and much larger care organizations for personal/home care, but none even approaches Family inHome Caregiving in quality of service.
