We tried to go to two of their locations in Fountain Valley and were rejected by both very rudely, even after we offered to pay cash for the visit.
They adamantly repeated that they didn’t accept our insurance, and REFUSED TO SPEAK WITH OUR REP who we had on the phone at the time.
The doctor hid behind the wall and spoke with the receptionist to work out the cash pricing, and after the receptionist quoted $158, the doctor changed the billing code to raise the price to $220.
Lastly, they offered that we seek out a “small private Vietnamese office” that would be much cheaper “under $100.”
When we asked if we see the doctor and pay chase because my sister needed urgent care, she said the doctor was “on lunch” and would not be able to see her “until AROUND AFTER 1ish.”
I understand the complexities of insurance and billing, which speaks to issues within the healthcare system. However, this interaction surpassed healthcare systemic issues as we offered to pay cash, and were still refused, being directed elsewhere.
Office of Christina Vo and male doctor (who’s name we didn’t take down, but was the one arranging the pricing from behind the wall).
