The very expensive well pump I ordered from Water Pumps Direct was stolen by a FedEx employee this past Sunday Oct 17 2021. I was in my backyard when I heard the truck pull up and by the time I got out front the truck was already speeding down the street. After being delayed by FedEx for 3 days and setting the installation back I was very excited to finally receive it, however, the only thing I received was an empty box!! No pump inside!! The box had been retaped and the secure staples removed. I contacted FedEx immediately and was told there was nothing they could do even though the driver was still in the process of delivering packages! It is a simple matter to find out Route assignments for that day and who was working in the FedEx ground warehouse facility. There is no way a driver should deliver an obviously tampered with and empty box. Then I was given a link to file a claim and after wasting a lot of time inputting all the information and hitting submit, a message popped up saying the seller had to file it. I am very disappointed and disgusted with FedEx. The trust is gone. What are you going to do about this Fe?

Three delivery attempts and then held it at a facility 15 miles from my home without notice. Created an account to track package and get updates after first delivery attempt - no updates were given via text nor phone call. Come to find out, there are no "hold locations" as an option given by FedEx on the app and voice recording in my state. After six days of my original delivery date/first attempt, and being on hold for over five minutes to tell me my package has been sitting at a facility for four days. UPS all the way. Free shipping through the company I ordered the birthday present through via FedEx is garbage. I would have rather have paid any amount for shipping using anyone but FedEx.
Package was delayed. I called several times and spoke with several representatives. The representatives each have a different level of experience of help. Just a matter of luck getting the right ones. When you do it's very helpful and clear. I did receive my shipment albeit almost a week late for my store. I'd say the worst thing about FedEx is the inability to control your own packages' destination. That is up to the shipper and they have to go through their own process with FedEx (which is a headache and cost).
With UPS you have the freedom to send it to a UPS location/store for extra security for a nominal fee especially if your office will be closed at delivery time.
UPS offers GPS tracking in out for delivery packages while I didn't see that for FedEx.
