I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the care my puppy received at your clinic. When I initially brought him in, I was sold on a membership for free office visits and discounted products, which seemed like a good deal given his tendency toward yeast infections that often turned into secondary bacterial infections. Unfortunately, my experience has been anything but satisfactory.
The first infection my puppy had turned into a severe condition resembling staph, and Dr. Smith did not appear confident in treating him. This lack of confidence was evident in the fact that the infection lasted several months before it was resolved. Recently, while the staph issue has cleared up, my puppy developed allergies that caused goopy eyes and redness on his hairless skin.
When I brought him in again, Dr. Wooten examined him. Despite my clear understanding of the situation—I could smell the yeast and observe the symptoms of a secondary bacterial infection—Dr. Wooten insisted on sampling all three affected areas, as if each area could be infected by a different pathogen. They also wanted to test for glaucoma and other conditions that were clearly irrelevant to a puppy with allergies.
I expressed my concerns, pointing out that a competent vet should be able to recognize the issue without unnecessary and costly tests. After some pressure, Dr. Wooten finally agreed that it was a simple bacterial infection secondary to the allergies. However, his attitude was dismissive and rude, seemingly because I refused to allow unnecessary tests that would have resulted in a $400 bill.
I am extremely disappointed in the level of care provided by your clinic. I do not feel that your veterinarians have the necessary skill or judgment to provide appropriate care without excessive and unnecessary testing. Despite not being a vet myself, I recognized the issue immediately, which raises serious concerns about the competence of your staff.
Given this experience, I will not be recommending your clinic to others. I also question the validity of your high rating, as my experience has been far from positive. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to your practice.
