I received a fairly large inheritance check from my Aunt due to my Grandparents passing. It was drawn out on First Citizens ... I have been using mobile banking for a while and I wanted to open up a checking and savings account somewhere... So I thought I could do it here... I had done some research and I had saw that first citizens actually has a very low satisfactory rate with its customers but I thought what the heck my family has an account here based out of North Carolina where the bank originally started so I thought I would give it a try. The woman who's card read something along the lines of supervisor of customer relations made her mind up about me from the minute I walked in. She was immediately skeptical of myself, the check and my identification... She repeatedly told me that I couldn't just open up a bank account to cash a check and I repeatedly had to tell her that I was looking for a bank to stay with... She called and verified the check once and "left a voicemail" now thinking back on it I don't even think she called to verify the check whatsoever... She went back to her manager for a fairly long time trying to decide whether or not they were going to help me and came back and told me I would just have to wait until someone called her back and verified it. She was not willing to call again, she was not willing to look up at my aunt's account herself... She was just so rude and short with me... I have never had someone treat me like that. I can't imagine walking in with a large check into a banking establishment and being pretty much told that you were not welcome here. Needless to say this is the worst bank I've ever dealt with and I caution anybody else to use them. I left in tears. After I pulled myself together I went to another bank and it was like night and day I walked in I was treated friendly and they were more than happy to help me open up a checking and savings account...shame on these people.
