First Steps CDC

I toured five centers before I decided on this center for my son. I have degrees in Early Childhood Education and have worked as a preschool teacher myself. When I walked into this center, I knew that it was where I wanted my son to attend, while I work. They submit waivers for children to remain in rooms or move up rooms, when they are ready, not just due to their birthdate (like most centers). It was apparent to me that this center focuses on the strengths of each child as a individual, not just age and milestone acquisition. If my son met his milestones early, they would work with Department of Early Learning to move him to the next room, or vice versa. Their infant room teacher has been there for twelve years. This is unheard of in this industry. My son loves his teachers and has friends his own age at this center. His teachers support him through the use of art, using sign language and read with him. He is able to complete Baby-Led Weaning, by feeding himself. And, he is given my breastmilk in a bottle, or is spoon-fed. My son is happy when I come to pick him up and I couldn't be happier with our choice to have him attend this center. I love that there are many children in foster care or in adoption support at this center. Often children with state financial support have a hard time finding centers that are high quality and are not cost prohibitive - but this center offers wonderful, caring teachers and curriculum while also being financially fair in cost. This center is diverse, and my son's teachers love my son - the things that truly matter to me.

The long term staff members are amazing! This center provides high quality child care and learning that many centers I have been too do not! They make you feel like family and treat the children their as their own! I love how they connect with their community! Highly recommend sending your children here for childcare!

My 2 and a half year old daughter goes here and has been here for over year. This daycare has been so amazing. My daughter gets so excited every morning to see her teacher. It's just like a home daycare but it's not. The classroom sizes aren't too big which means my daughter gets a lot of one on one attention. Our old daycare had way too many kids in a classroom bit this one doesn't. The teachers do so many activities with the kids and the kids get to play outside alot which I think is important.
