Went there today for the first time, the prices are so much better than mud bay and so much more variety in canned food. I dont care much if the staff is attentive or not, they weren't till the last bit of our shopping. The only reason I give 4 stars is there was an older lady there that gave off odd vibes, like we were being watched and wasnt really customer servicey when spoken to. We spent $100 on canned food for our doggies it just took a while to pick out from so much. I like that they left us alone for the most part.

So I'm a groomer and I do house call grooming now after the salon I was working at shut down. I had heard that this self wash allowed groomers to groom dogs occasionally and I have a couple of clients who live in Aberdeen so I thought this would be a good fit so I called to see if it would be ok. I explained that I had 2 dogs that I needed to groom that belonged to clients and that I was hoping to set something up for once every 6-8 weeks or so if all of this was ok. The woman (very nice lady) on the phone said this was absolutely fine and I booked for 3 hours. Unfortunately one of the dogs that I was supposed to groom never showed up, however everything else went great, until check out. It turned out to be the woman owner at check out. I explained that unfortunately one of the dogs no showed and I'm happy to pay for the fee for that because I did book the spot. She proceeded to lecture me about how "this isn't your business, you can't just come in and rent someone else's business for your own gain" I tried to explain what I had previously told the other person on the phone, but she talked over me so I let her rant it all out including staying calm as she explained that I could be perfectly great or be a dog strangler (I've been grooming in this area for 16 years and have an excellent reputation, but ok) and then tried again to explain everything that I said above, that I wasn't looking to do this all of the time, that I had 2 clients (1 now after the no show) I wanted to groom once in a while and that was it. I do house call grooming and I'm fine with that, but she ended up getting defensive and talking over me again, including accusing me of taking up half the day (4 hours) when I had only booked 3 and offered to pay for what I had booked (she turned me down) so I just said ok and paid my bill and left. Apparently her employees and her don't communicate and I'm being blamed for it as the least she could have done is ask me questions, instead of just assuming, making this one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had, including at Walmart watching a manager lecture an employee that was in the middle of helping me. She could seriously benefit from some customer service tips from Mud Bay. I am pissed because none of what she was trying to accuse me of happened and when I tried to calmly and politely explain this she repeatedly got defensive and talked over and blamed me for the miscommunication when I laid everything out from the start.
