I went to Forbes a few years ago for a cap on a lower molar. I returned a few days later for some bite adjustment, and I told him that I was having some pain in the corresponding upper molar. He told me not to worry about it. Four days later, the upper molar disintegrated. So I switched to my wife’s dentist and he did a cap on that upper molar.
A year or two later, the Forbes cap fell off. I went to my dentist and he looked at it and said that there were no “box cuts.” That is, none of the shaping that holds a cap on. Forbes had relied only on the adhesive to hold the cap in place!
Another Forbes story: my wife has a problematic molar. She saw Forbes around 20 years ago and he said it couldn’t be saved. She found her current dentist, and she still has that tooth. (Her current dentist is a genius…)
