The sea bass tasted like a (river) bass. We had to return it. Instead we got miso salmon that was great. The restaurant included our drinks for free to cover for the mishap. That was nice of them.
The place is very nice and upscale but a bit loud.
I went there for my birthday. It started out good. The bartender was really friendly and good at his job. The only reason I'm giving three stars for service is because of the bartender. If it were based solely on our server, it would be one star.
We then were seated and when our server came over, it seemed like he was having a bad day, as he was very curt, and more than a little unfriendly.
My wife ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, and I ordered the dry aged New York steak. It took an inordinate amount of time for our food to arrive.
My steak was one of the worst I've ever had, tough and chewy. I've had better steaks at local diners. You would think that a $65 steak would be better than that. My wife said her fish was good, but the mashed potatoes were very good.
The bill was around $200 for a meal we didn't even enjoy. Will I go back? Not unless it's free, and even then, it's questionable.
Lastly, I think there needs to be some sort of dress code for a restaurant that charges premium prices. Tank tops, cutoff jeans and flip-flops should not be allowed. I guess it shows how far standards have slipped for Forbes Mill.
Will I recommend it to friends? Absolutely not.
