Instead of doing a pointless "receipt checks" on everybody equally, now they're doing it in a discriminatory manner. As I was entering the store, security stood there and watched two guys walk out with a cart and a bag filled with things that were triggering the door sensors, cart locked up at the door because it didn't go through the checkout and security purposely turned their backs to it after witnessing it and even helped them move the locked cart out of the door..... Then after I paid for my things at self checkout and walked towards the door, was approached by the same security who picked me out of the several customers exciting the store and demanded to see my receipt... WHAT?! 🙄 I support Fred Meyer less and less every week, and now actually prefer to spend higher prices at New Seasons, Whole Foods, and even Market of Choice because they don't have a prison atmosphere, and would rather even shop at a nasty Safeway to avoid this now. I've also noticed at several FM stores recently that the self checkout machines are refusing to scan items and will even make the scan beep sound and not put it on your tab for purchase just to try to turn people using self checkout machines into the criminals they wish them to be. All while letting actual shoplifters exit without a problem.... 🤔🧐
