I don't know where they find their people to hire but I've never been treated so rudley and made to feel stupid by cashiers and customer service desk people. Fred Meyer is the only store where I experience that. Safeway even Walmart I've had way more positive interactions with employees. I think I have a good insight into this as I was a Fred Meyer cashier for 23 years. Because of my knowledge of their policies I know immediately when a cashier just doesn't want to do something for the customer for whatever reason. So they not only don't help you they then go out of their way to make you feel stupid. Like somehow giving me a sale . price of a couple bucks off an item is coming out of their personal money. I know for a fact cashiers have monetary leeway for every customer to make the customer happy, so they ensure the customer wants to come back. Maybe Fred Meyer needs to re educate their employees. Or maybe explain that doing it is good customer service while refusing to do and then making the customer feel stupid is bad customer service and maybe don't being your personal prejudices and attitudes to work. The employees act like they work at Barney's in New York or something. You work at a grocery store in a town most people have never heard of so maybe come down off your pedestals a little and make the customers happy cause honestly I would spend more for groceries at a different grocery store just to not have to deal with employees like that.
Stop to get a bit to eat and picked a ham and cheese croissant. Person in the deli asked if I wanted toasted, I said yes. She toasted it with the lettuce on the sandwich. Wow, who does that!!! Anyway, it was advertised having cream cheese and came with Feta/goat instead. Not something that I would put on ham. Plus the paper was charred from toasting which gave the sandwich a burnt taste. Not impressed. This is a training problem. Service was quick and cashier was friendly.
