I’m so sad that Fred Meyer has become one of the worst places to shop. I used to love it but through the years they’ve made their customers have to jump through more and more hoops just to get a sale price. First reward number, paper coupons, digital coupons, mix and match and have to keep track of the number of items per sale you get to ensure you get the sale. All of this while trying to make sure you don’t forget any of your groceries and taking care of your children, etc.. Then you finally make it to the register only to be overcharged anyway. This has been a reoccurring issue for us on several occasions over the last couple years … but tonight? They had two amazing sales buy 2 12 packs of soda get 3 free, buy 2 bags of chips get 3 free. So we purchased those along with the rest of our groceries. The total seemed really high, but the girl checking us out assured us everything was fine. We paid and as we walked out my husband looked at the receipt and saw we paid for every single one of those items, nothing was free… so then we got to spend 20mins at customer service to get our nearly $50 refund… I’m sure there was more on there that we did not notice as we were so tired at the end of a long day. The woman at customer service also let us know that they knew this was an issue… Including the cashier that told us everything was fine.
In addition to making things extremely difficult on your customers, you are also ripping them off.
Another reason I used to love shopping here was there was never much of a wait. Now? There is ALWAYS huge lines…
I loved Fred Meyer for many years, but I just feel like I can’t shop here any longer… do better. I’m sure there will be a class action lawsuit soon…
