I was really disappointed in the food. We came here while visiting the island since it was dog friendly outside, and we used to live on Maui, so we were excited to see some local food on the menu. My fiancé ordered the loco moco and it was not good, nor presented correctly. The rice was dry and chalky, like it had been undercooked and reheated. I tried a bite and couldn’t have any more, he finished it because he was really hungry. I ordered a patty melt on sourdough instead of rye, which I have never had an issue with at other restaurants, but the kitchen refused to switch the bread. I chose the cafe dip instead, which was average. The onion rings did not have much flavor and it was a funnel cake-type batter. Not worth the $4.50 up charge. I really wanted to like the place, since it has a nice vibe, but I felt like I spent too much money on a poor meal. Bummed.

I would love to post a positive review about this establishment, but unfortunately I guess we were one of the unlucky ones. After a hard days work at the Habitat For Humanity Store just down the road from the Cafe, the Manager of the store and a couple volunteers decided to grab a bite to eat. Hospitality was nice getting to our table, then it all went down hill. We were given menus of Specials from a week prior and only found out when we got food we didn't order. My Manager had to consistently ask for water, no steak sauce, ketchup, or any other condiments were offered. We ordered Steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli because that's what was on our menu. Once we got our Steak and French Fries!!, I informed the waitress that it's not what we ordered. Finally after she realized we had the wrong menus, we were expecting her to bring out what we ordered. WRONG!!, our steaks got cold and we didn't eat them. The bill came and that was it. I asked why were we paying full price for a meal we didn't get, no water, no condiments (except ketchup I took from another table), and why is it the same price? Of course I asked to speak to the manager and all I got was, "The Manager isn't in and I just work here"? Don't you think that maybe you might be doing your Manager a favor by making it right for people who help the unfortunately day in and day out with a fair meal? Guess not. Thumbs down for this establishment!

Came in on Fourth of July weekend and after being seated and waited between 20 and 30 minutes to even see a menu.
We were then told the most passive aggressive manner I’ve experienced since moving to Washington yeah because we didn’t have our IDs even though we weren’t there to drink we only wanted food we would need to leave and we could wait out the door again. If this establishment did not have a good location, it would be out of business.
I’ve eaten here before, and the food is never above mediocre, and the only reason I believe they stay in business is because of their location and their lack of competition on the island. I truly hope this place goes under new management ownership at some point soon so that it can improve , unfortunately, it seems the current owners or management are perfectly content to allow things to backslide.
The energy and mentality I’ve dealt with every time I’ve step foot in seems to be that “ shut up and like it or see yourself out
