Great Alpine zoo. Only 2 in the nation. Be sure to watch the feeding times, then you'll get to see the animals moving around and get a lot of interesting info from the animal keeper.

Not a typical zoo (more of an animal sanctuary/rescue) but it's a great experience specially for kids. My kids a great time learning about the animals and being up close to the animals makes all the difference.

My family and I visited this park when we were on vacation in Big Bear over Mothers Day week. I left in tears. This place is a joke. I have never seen such a horrible display. These animals look more like caged captives than rescued animals. The pens where the animals are kept are baren. The most saddening had to be the bears pen. I stood there and cried. It is a shame that this place is up and running and even more sad that people are helping them stay afloat by visiting. I wanted to stop and talk to the manager prior to leaving but my baby wasn't having it. I seriously was appaled and needless to say will NEVER go there again. I have seen my share of rescue shelters and zoos and I would have to say that this was the worst I've EVER seen.
