After over two years in the making, the Rhododendron course is a welcome addition to the dwindling number of DG courses in the Puget Sound.

Built on a former golf course, the designers took advantage of every bit of contour the property contains. The layout proceeds in a clockwise fashion (starting at 6:00).

The first hole is right outside the Flexline Pro Shop (which, BTW, allows you to demo used discs). It doglegs left, as do the next two holes. The course then zigzags efficiently back and forth around the property.

As of yet there is no billboard course map, but a good map is available on UDisc. However, each hole is also marked with a map, yardage, etc. The tees are large wooden platforms covered with astroturf. Red and white signs point to the next tee. There is a portable toilet outside the pro shop and one in the middle of the course.

The Rhododendron course is fun for all skill levels. The terrain is all grass. There is almost NO blackberry or scotch broom, so players spend little time searching for discs (that being said, the rough is unmowed grass).

For advanced players, there is plenty of OB, sand traps (hazard) and well "protected" basket locations. There are also 2 island holes, which are fun to get. Unlike FSDG NW 18, there are few tees blocked by guardian trees, which is a welcome change 😉.

Players should use the big parking lot over by NW 18, and walk the 2 blocks to the new course. Have fun!!
