Paid my bill. Still no service, two days later. And guy had such loud background noise, it sounded like he was at a party. And he repeated every piece of my card info back to me, so anyone there can now use my card, it’d seem. Confirmed my email & said he’d send receipt.. still no receipt. And every time I call GCI, their people make it into an hour long convo—no matter how simple the task/request.

Literal nightmare to call them, which is the only reason my bill was ever past due. My credit is 800; that’s how much dread I have about calling these guys. Not to mention the crazy prices, but no one will offer internet in my area except them 🥺

Horrible company practices. Over priced internet. Changes made without customer notifications. Barely does any maintenance to make service better. Invasion to privacy practices. Uses hacking techniques to secure personal router mirroring and monitoring. Would absolutely go without before ever dealing with this company.

Abysmal service. Internet has been out for a week and I work online from home. If you call customer service, you cannot speak to anyone locally. You get a call center in Mexico or the Philippines. When you run through all the same steps with each new person online, you can finally talk to someone about scheduling a technician to come by. The technician came, did things for a few hours, and left telling me the internet would work. It didn’t. I called right after the guy left and no one could get me in touch with him. After an hour on the phone with someone in Mexico he said he contacted a dispatcher and the guy was not coming back (this was after he assured me that the guy must have been planning to come back with tools or something). GCI is awful and they exist solely because of their near-monopoly in Alaska.
