We had a very challenging critical slope situation - more so with the City than the actual slope/geotechnical aspects - that Marc McGinnis very ably and efficiently helped us successfully navigate. We very highly recommend both him and his firm. Evelyn & Philo Hall

Geotech Consultants are the mark that all consultants should strive for. They know their area of expertise and even more importantly, they help find creative solutions that satisfy our project determinants. They are also practical, by that I mean they find solutions that are appropriate for the conditions without spending money on what isn’t necessary. The first move I make on a new project is to call Marc at Geotech. I have been doing that for 3 decades.

The person who came was very nice and personable. Talked with me for almost an hour. Then nothing except a bill for over $400. We waited for a report of some kind because we weren’t told we should’ve been taking copious notes during the site visit. They referred us to someone for drainage: another awful experience of paying and getting nothing in return. 7 months later another bill from geotech so we said we’d pay once we got any kind of a report. Because their referral out was awful we solved our issue without them or their referral. Geotech response? They’d emailed their report but to a misspelled email address—I’m sure it bounced back undeliverable. Their final response: to send our bill to collections for full amount owed for their less than one hour on site and a report received 7 months after site visit. Not even a small reduction of the bill with their knowing their report was correctly sent so late. Geotech was a referral to us from our architect. We’ve told them it was a bad referral which led to another bad referral. Very dissatisfied. They may know their topic but bad business handling in my opinion from a good referral source. (And yes we paid the full amount quite begrudgingly).
