We are doing a large remodel of a home (3600+ sf) that included updates throughout. The job with Aaron started off OK. He was a bit unhappy right from the get-go with us because our drywall took longer than we had anticipated. (Not at all unusual in a large remodel). When he finally did begin we were impressed that he was clean and respectful with our home. He worked quickly and answered any questions that we had.
The issue came in that there was a large portion of our job (trim and an extensive decorative coffered ceiling) that were not completed when he finished the initial part of our painting. (This was understood before he started that it would not be complete when he initially came to paint) We agreed that he would come back at a later date. This was all part of our bid from Aaron.
He failed to show on the agreed upon date of return. He did not text, or call. I called mulitple times and he never answered and instead sent me a text informing me he decided to go do another job. When I expressed my disappointment in him not returning on our agreed upon date and my need for him to get back to my job as soon as possible, he quit by text. I tried to call him to discuss the issue and he refused to answer the phone. He instead texted me basically saying he wasn't making as much money as he thought on our job and that we should find someone else. He completely abandoned our job and left me in a huge lurch to find someone new to complete the project. He never had a conversation with me about the fact he (apparently) underbid the project and instead just quit. He refused to answer his phone which is incredible unprofessional.
I have been working with many other tradesman on this remodel and leave 5 star reviews for people that are responsible and do what they agreed to do in their bid. My expectation of contractors is: communicating if there is an issue and problem solving to figure out a solution if one arises. I didn't get this with Aaron at all. He has ZERO problem solving skills and refuses to speak on the phone if he is feeling uncomfortable. I would not recommend him at all.
