Gold + Grit is THE best barber shop in Portland: modern and clean shop, fair prices, queer-friendly, professional work, and amazing barbers/owners. Nate has been my barber for almost 2 years and he is always willing to try new styles on me or give me solid advice on what direction to take. He's also a great conversationalist and super fun! My hair has never looked better and I owe it to him!

Always a great experience with Nate. First off, I just want to commend Gold + Grit on how seriously they take COVID precautions. I felt totally safe throughout the entire appointment. Secondly, I have thick, wiry, Asian hair and let’s just say it’s not the easiest to cut. Nate listened to everything I wanted in a hairstyle, and gave really good feedback on techniques and products I should use to get the style I was looking for. Overall, I’d highly recommend Nate to anyone looking for a great haircut by an amazing barber.

I found Gold+Grit randomly searching my neighborhood for a new barber and I do not regret it! Their scheduling is simple and straightforward. The space is gorgeously decorated and friendly. My barber was the very excellent Nate who immediately made me feel at ease and we had very fun and friendly chats through out my cut!
Nate is a very intuitive barber and I felt so fresh and handsome when I left. Nate gave me a lot of options but ultimately left the choices up to me.
Go schedule an appointment because you will love it.
I already scheduled my next visit. 💞
