About 8 months ago, I asked for quotes for trimming a giant ash tree in the back yard. The Golden Oak Tree Service quote was right in the middle of the pack but they were the most reasonable. We had some financial issues that popped up and we were waiting on a neighbor to replace the rear fence, so we postponed it. The tree then was rather barren as it was very hot.

Fast forward to last week. Our refinance went through, we are prepping for a new roof and need to get the tree trimmed because it is thick with dead branches and tons of greenery due to the rains. I called around to see about getting new quotes and talked with Golden Oak about my previous quote. They came out to look on Monday about an hour after I called them, and despite the difference between the barren tree and the full tree, the old quote of 2250$ was only increased to 2400$. They were off to Malibu on Wednesday for brush clearance after the recent fires and had a single day window for Tuesday. I accepted.

They were on-site at 745am the next morning and got to work. Crew of 10-12, with climbing gear and a big truck with a chipper. Not only did they do an impressive job, they did it quick and with little issue. They trimmed a few large branches that were overhanging powerlines and other neighbor's yards, and followed requests to not top the tree (since it was shaped properly already). I am extraordinarily happy with their work, and their communication, their speed, and safety. They even brought the invoice to a separate location for payment when I was unable to be at home the next day. Will definitely be using their service again.
