I don’t understand why there’s so much negativity with the reviews. Every reservation and lottery system will have its winners and losers. It’s a difficult hot spring to get to but we had a great time there and the caretakers were some lovely folks who gave us great advice and made us feel very welcome. We saw a number of volunteers working in improving the trail and am happy they’re working hard making this place better!

This place is not that special. Lots of free hot springs all over the US. Actually I was outside Las Vegas, and found hot springs two different ones hike included. Just off Colorado river. No lottery no snobby owners. This place continues to be a joke they made it harder than ever to try and get in don't bother going there.

I have not been to the Goldmyer Hot Springs because making a reservation was impossible. I called them yesterday and left a message stating that I would like to visit with my family for Mother's Day. I received a call back about 6 hours later from a completely rude and unprofessional gentleman. The first thing he said was that he understood that I wanted to bring children to the hot springs. He said that children tend to leave trash and damage the reservation. After that, everything out of his mouth was him completely trying to get me to NOT come. He read down a list of reasons why I should not make the trip. The long drive, the dirt road, the hours and hours that it would take to get there, how it would be a really long day for my children. He even went as far as to say "So, you really plan on getting up at 4:00am to be here at 9:00am." Really? How is that any of his business what time we get up to take our trip? I have a lot of friends who have gone to Goldmyer. I know all about it. I know about the dirt road, I know how long it takes to get there. I know how long the hike is. My kids and I go hiking every weekend and we have for years. The whole phone conversation with him ,he was literally trying to get me to not come there. My children were excited to go on this tiny adventure but after being on the phone with this rude man for 20 minutes basically trying to prove to him that we were fully capable of making this tiny trip and not ruining the reservation, I finally gave up and said "Ok, I'm going to change my mind. We'll find something else to do for Mother's Day." He very rudely said "GOOD! AND DON'T EVER CALL BACK HERE AGAIN!." I am literally outraged. I have never been spoken to like this before. I can not believe this gentleman works in customer service.
