I had driven past Gray Barn Nursery many times and it looked so inviting. However, after stopping by today to ask a few questions and pick up a few items, it was obvious how badly I misjudged this business. First thing was when I walked through the door, and the person behind the counter never greeted me, acknowledged my presence or asked if I needed assistance. But they did do these these things for the person who walked through the door about 45 seconds after me. So then I asked for help finding pest control for my plants. The employee asked me what kind of pests, and when I responded that I did not know, they gave me a harsh look and rolled their eyes. So they proceeded to show me 2 different options - both of which they described as “general” pest control. These were their only options and neither was “pest” specific, so I have to wonder why they even asked for this info and why the attitude. I came in for help and got attitude. Major attitude. I recommend going somewhere else as this place clearly is not interested or able to provide even the smallest amount of kindness, expertise, professionalism or customer service. Will happily spend my money somewhere else.

Just purchased a fig tree. Very nice and helpful staff. Reasonable prices. Good variety of trees, plants, flowers, and mostly organic soil, compost, and fertilizers. I will grab some organic worm castings next time.
