Ellie is THE BEST !!! I have been coming to get my hair cut by her for almost 20 years. She was gone at another store for a few years, and l missed her terribly. Several years ago, she came back to the Renton Ctr Great Clips salon!! And l am so happy!! She gives me a GREAT Haircut every time !! We have a friendly lovely relationship. I trust her 100%!!!
I’m not one to write reviews but I feel like this needs to be done. My daughter had really long and pretty hair but has been wanting to cut it short. She’s had it short in the past so why not again?!
Browsed for a place nearby that could take her in since we are leaving town this weekend. Chose this place because she only wanted a very simple chop. Nothing crazy - just a basic bob with no layers.
I don’t even know the name of the lady who helped us on 8/10 around 4pm. But she sat my daughter down, asked what I wanted for her hair and I even showed her a past photo of her hair from two years ago.
She starts chopping the length off and the length was fine. Then more scissor work was being done in chunks. Like really big chunks. I’ve never seen anyone cut hair the way she did. She even tried to thin her hair with a razor. Like why?! I had to put a stop to all of that. Long story short, the photos tell all. She cut so many layers, literally to the middle of my kid’s head. And everything was so choppy and uneven. I was in disbelief but very livid. I asked her what she did to my kids hair? And that I said no layers. She then proceeded to argue and said, “what? It’s cute!”
If you look at the photos…. There’s one literally right after we exchanged dialogue. And then there’s an after photo of when we left. My daughter looked like she had a mullet in the process. I was so upset, I cried!
My kid didn’t even feel good about herself. She looked pretty sad. I told her we would get it fixed. And we did today (8/11) by a wonderful person from a different salon. My kid definitely loves her fixed cut. No more mullet!
Definitely would never come back here nor would I recommend this place even for the most basic service. Only gave this a one star because I don’t have a choice. I am traumatized.
Very fast service, but it felt pretty rushed. The lady who cut my hair was very rough and kept pressing very hard with the hair clipper. She didn't bother blowdrying my hair after soaking it with water and had me leaving with loose hair falling everywhere. I tried using their $15 coupon but it wasn't accepted. At $15 this would have been fine, but at $23 this haircut was not worth it.
UPDATE: I'm dropping my rating from 2/5 to 1/5 after getting home and drying my hair since she wouldn't do it, only to see how terrible of a job she did and now I have to give myself a buzz cut. Never coming back here again.
