I brought in a Star Trek costume for Comic Con that I had bought on ebay from a Chinese company that had messed up a bunch of things, and this tailor helped to fix it at a reasonable price. The mock turtle neck was made from cotton instead of a stretchy material, so I couldn't even get it over my head! The tailor had the idea to install a small zipper (and they happened to have the right color) on the side of the neck, which worked perfectly. The pant waist was also too narrow by a couple of inches, and the tailor was able to fix it by taking out some of the darts. Overall, I had a positive experience.

Took my handmade and very expensive shoes in for repair. They totally ruined them, forced me to pay, became increasingly defensive, kept interrupting and did not even seem to mind. Usually love this kind of small, old, privately owned shop. But not this one, it turns out. First visit will have been my last visit ever. Too bad.
