This is a story of The Good The Bad and The Ugly.

The Good - Guiton's built our pool and that experience couldn't have been better. As shared in a previous review, we have enjoyed the pool for 4 years and will continue to survive Redding Summers because of their great work. It is a beautiful little Oasis. Travis Courage was great to work with and designed the perfect pool for our space. His father Mark, a long time pool builder with the company is solid as a rock like the rest of the construction crew.

The Bad - based on our good experience with the pool construction, we have had Guiton's performing our pool maintenance, also for 4 years. We stuck with them through several issues with their workers performing incomplete work, damaging our property and being generally unreliable. Management was reasonably responsive until recently. The last few issues have been mystifying with workers showing up but then not doing the pool cleaning and other poor quality work. As we have spoken to managers of the pool cleaning arm of the company it is as if they are tired of hearing from us. We were promised repeat visits to perform work that had not been done among other things, those promises were not kept. So I called and fired their pool service.

The Ugly - after I fired the service, the general manager called and expressed regret for our experience. He was quite cordial but never expressed an interest in truly resolving the issue or keeping our business he seemed ready to wash his hands of us. He promised he would give us credit for the visits where the work wasn't performed and would refund the credit balance we had on our account, which amounted to about $200. Not a large sum of money but it was what was due us. Today we received a check for $8.26. so now we will have to go wrestle with the company for $190 or so after receiving years of bad service broken promises and general disappointment about the work we were paying to have done.

So the moral of the story is, by all means have Guiton's pools build your pool, their construction team is simply the Best.

But do not under any circumstances have them maintain your pool. Their workers will show up late, share your gate code with anyone they choose, do poor work or no work at all cleaning your pool, back over your landscaping and damage your property, and their managers will listen have heartedly and do nothing. Then you'll get a call from the general manager who I'm pretty sure was more interested in the Giants game or whatever else he was really doing while he was on the phone with me. But you will get $8, so there is that, at least...I wanted to end on a positive and I guess that's the best I could do.
