Will not return to hand and stone, here is why:
Booked a 1 hour massage for $89 with a $30 foot treatment upgrade for my wife. Wife came home and I asked how it was. She said "eh, it was okay, no complaints" I jokingly asked if it was worth $130. She said it actually ended up costing $200, and didn't get the foot treatment. Here's what happened:
The $89 is an "introductory price" for new customers. We've had massages there and apparently since we aren't "new customers", the cost of a 1 hour is actually $139. This is completely unclear on the website. Further, even though I selected "any female masseuse", she was assigned a masseuse who wasn't certified to do foot treatments? She hasn't taken the test? So not only was I overcharged for the hour, but the foot treatment upgrade didn't happen.
So I called and asked for them to make it right. Front desk lady took notes and told me I'd get a call first thing tomorrow morning.
Next day at 1230, no call yet, so I called, and conveniently "I was just reading over the notes, thanks for calling!" Yeah right. I told her the same story, she gave some excuse about how the website is controlled by corporate and apologized for how confusing it is. She asked the main manager who refused to do anything to make it right. I didn't want a full refund, just a partial, to the price I originally booked. Even though the assistant manager agreed the website was confusing and not clear, they refused to make any corrections. This is bad, bad customer service. This is how you lose return customers. 1)have a bad website 2)charge loyal, returning customers $50 more for a service 3)don't perform customer service.
Tldr; unclear website, got tricked into a cost that wasn't accurate, horrible customer service on their end.
Go to a different massage place. This overpriced location is not worth your time, energy, or money.
