Kimberly is a godsend! The first day I came in for my appointment, I was just given terrible news about another health concern I was dealing with. I can still recall that moment as if it were yesterday. She grabbed my hand without saying much, “I can’t solve all your problems, but I can help you with this.” As she grabs my left wrist, I felt all compassion and empathy I needed to get me through my challenging times.
My work injury started 9/19/2023, my left wrist did not improve after 10 weeks of restricted duties and follow up visits with the doctor. By 11/2023, I was referred to an Orthopedic specialist for further evaluation. I have had such a terrible experience with the staff and surgeon since Day 1, I cannot believe I had to endure nearly 5 months of that fiasco, just to get my MRI scheduled, completed, and even start physical therapy! Their PA gave me a steroid injection that caused nerve pains for nearly 3 months, before I was able to get my MRI (they mishandled my paperwork multiple times which caused for delays), and I just couldn’t wait to get that done so I could switch to another Orthopedic surgeon for a 2nd opinion. When I asked to start therapy back in 12/2023, I was “denied” advised against surgeon’s orders until they have more info on my MRI (I suspect it had something to do with the nerve pain they gave me).
Anyway, I was finally able to make contact with Hands for Living, got an appointment with Kimberly, and that’s when my healing journey began! I was able to seek another provider, Dr. Craig Pastor, felt comfortable and confident with him and his team to move forward with surgery. Yesterday was a bittersweet appointment, I was finally discharged, which I never thought there was an end in sight. My left wrist has never felt more “back to normal” all thanks to Kimberly at Hands for Living! They have other great staff as well, but I connected with Kimberly on a different level. Funny story, I came in with a tweaked back and she even gave me advice and helped me manage the pain as a pro bono! I wouldn’t want to receive another hand related injury, but if I were I definitely know who and where to return! I am so grateful for the time and care she puts in. My parting gift from Hands for Living, I chose the flashlight for those dark days ahead there’s always light at the end ❤️
