Hiked in February on a nice 50° day with no other hikers in site. Beautiful scenery. Walked to sand dunes and back. Easy hike.

Off to the right of the road, before you reach the boat launch and the historic cabin, there is a small dirt parking area that marks the start of trailhead. The hike is an easy, gradually inclining path along the bluffs overlooking the Columbia River. We hiked about two miles in and reached one of the larger sand dunes before turning back but it looks like there's a few more miles worth of walking. This area is VERY windy so dress warm.
