Larry said it. It is a very solemn and peaceful place. I found it by accident on a motorcycle ride and I’m glad I stopped. Now I go that way just to stop there on occasion.

Weird be to "rate" such a solemn place. This historic marker amid the pine trees marks where Qualchan and other Indians were murdered by Colonel George Wright in 1858 (hence Hangman Creek). It is a beautiful and quiet spot today, and well worth a visit.

Nice place to stop on a motorcycle ride. If you are interested in local history there is much to read on most of these events/places. It's a shame this place is a regular dump site for trash like so many other places have become in the last few years.
