Back about six/seven years ago I decided to have a inground pool built in my backyard. I did research with Harper Pools & others I won’t mention, because I wondered if they had built & designed pools before that made sense in relation to where a back door & kitchen is located in a house. And other aspects, like where shallow end should be located? Once I had spoken to Harper Pools I was so glad I had not gone with these other pool companies. Past history of Harper Pools. For one this is a family own business who has built pools now for many, many decades. That is especially important to have everything flow in reference to the backyard access to house, the bathroom, kitchen.

How you access the backyard from your house, kitchen, & bathroom. In my case that was very important, so I’m not walking from one side of the backyard, across entire backyard, to get the food out & placed where patio is located. I had Harper Pools lay extra cement for a covered patio. They knew exactly where to lay cement in reference to where backyard door & kitchen located. Also where shallow end will be located.

Since I had a covered patio built it was important for our family, as well as our company, to be able to sit at the covered patio, while close to the little kids. So that’s exactly where the shallow end was built. On the same side of backyard where covered patio built. Adults can relax in the shade & have close access to the kids. Also had a play pad built, so the little kids can be in pool & play safely. Not one other pool company talked about having a play pad. Very simple to build.

Most other pool companies put NO thought into those important aspects when building a pool. Other pool companies had placement of pool that looked very awkward with no thought into a design. Just here’s a square/round pool with shallow end at the opposite side, of where the shallow end should be. That’s another important aspect of building a pool…where the shallow end should be located?

These other companies put NO thought into the location of Pool & design that compliments my backyard. Not much thought into location of shallow end, equipment location, type of water feature & location. It’s like here’s a hole for your pool that we will place here, & we can finish in a couple of weeks, & how would you like to pay?

Oh yes, price. Money was the main interest, I felt, from other pool companies. Harper Pools had the Best price.

Another very important thing when building a pool, that I learned from Harper Pools is the quality & placement of rebar that’s used for the structure of pools. And how much rebar is used. Get educated about rebar & ask what a pool company uses? Size of their rebar, quality of their rebar? How much rebar used, & is their a design used when placing rebar?

Call Harper Pools & have them come out to ask these questions. Get educated! Don’t get caught up in the fancy features or just the excitement of putting a pool in. Don’t be in a huge rush to get pool finished. Do it right the first time. Stay calm & educate yourself.
