Very pleasant stay. Had to work. Safe and inviting environment.

It looks like a subpar motel from the outside, I was really skeptical. The entrance doors were locked and the friend I was visiting had to come and unlock them from the inside even though it was not even dark out. The room was surprisingly good looking, functional and seemed much nicer than the building and the rest of the interior like the creepy extra empty lobby with empty mini refrigerators on the counter

Enjoy it while you can. This is a fairly standard hotel, but the location is outstanding - right downtown with tons of shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel was sold recently and will be converted into some kind of housing or healthcare facility, maybe in early 2024. This is too bad, because most of the other hotels in Alameda are nowhere near downtown. And the staff are all helpful. It's a shame this hotel may be going away. I was in Alameda for work and staying here made my trip much more fun
