We were scheduled to go to Samuel p Taylor Campground by Lagunitas, with beautiful Redwood trees. And 9 Days before, got notice .. due to water shortage ... no showers !!
My Husband says No Way !!! So frantically, looked for another Campground. Fortunately, Henry Cowell Campground happened to have 1 Campsite available !!!!
Always love this place . They keep bathrooms n showers clean DAILY .. hosing down the floors n toilets n papers well supplied. Not all Campgrounds are created Equal !!!
The park Rangers n the Camp Host keeps this park quiet n orderly. The Camp Host always rides around checking.
The park is close to Santa Cruz beaches 10 min ... For a nice stroll. 20 or more min to Davenport ... Wadell Beach ... Lesser people n crowd .. keeping ourselves safe during the Pandemic. Wind Surfers are always nice to watch.
N last year, we stayed and had lunch on the beach n took a nice stroll with my Hubby n just relax. And we decided, to watch the Sunset. We drove to town n grabbed Chinese food fr Panda Express. Drove back ... Had Sunset Dinner with Wine. Beautiful Sunset 🥰
This year, after hrs on the Beach, my Hubby wanted Seafood dinner at Moss Landing at Phil's. Delicious Dinner Worth the Drive .. 30 min
Great spot, access to the trails of the state park, very clean and well maintained, plenty of water near campsite. Campsites come in variety of views bigger ones for larger groups in the middle covered by beautiful trees and some around the clif edges with a wider view of the valley. Staff were super nice and friendly and very helpful with directions and things like that! The showers are coin operated (hate those!) so bring quarters! Cleanness: very clean Views: diverse and good Fee: 35$ per night, fair Access: not far to Felton and there is a little convenience store 3 minutes away from the entrance
