I recently completed Invisalign treatment for my upper teeth at Hi 5 Orthodontists, previously known as Slack and Combs, where I had braces for my lower teeth during high school. Overall, the treatment outcome is okay, but there were some aspects of my experience that left me less than satisfied.
One notable issue arose when, after pre-paying for my treatment, there was an unexpected delay of about 4 months before they initially scheduled me to start. Although I raised my concerns, they did eventually accommodate my request to start earlier.
Throughout my visits, I couldn't shake feeling uncomfortable, which I attribute to what seemed like a lack of expertise in treating adult patients. I understand their primary focus is on children, but as an adult client, they should know how to treat adults as well as children. A bit more attentiveness from the orthodontist, Dr. Williams would have likely resulted in even better outcomes, as I only saw him a couple of times throughout my year and a half treatment.
Furthermore, my attempts to update my contact information seemed to fall on deaf ears. Despite multiple requests, the office continued to reach out to my parents' phone numbers for appointment confirmations instead of mine. I emphasized that I am a 30-year-old adult who prefers direct communication, but unfortunately, this issue persisted and they still contact my parents.
While Hi 5 Orthodontists may be well-suited for pediatric treatments, I hesitate to recommend them for adults based on my personal experience. I believe with some improvements in communication and a more patient-centric approach, they could enhance their services for adult clients.
I hope this feedback helps in refining their practices and ensuring a positive experience for future clients.
