Never ever again. Ever. Change of management left us with no support, practically no one taking care of our building for the better of 6 months. Building then went up for sale and the staff all but disappeared. No security, hardly anyone on site and when they were here, they were hiding in their office. After multiple car break ins and packages being stolen from our delivery room, still no security on site to keep the residents and their belongings safe. Homeless were sleeping in our lobby and common areas, packages stolen from our package room multiple times, garage door broke, so had to be left open for well over a month, without a security presence to keep people from entering our garage and the elevators to the lobby (where they would manage to get up to other areas of the complex). Multiple complaints made to management and nothing was done. Such a huge disregard for all the residents, their safety and their belongings.
Our lease came due, so we received a renewal notice. Our rent went up exponentially. Because we were in the process of purchasing a home, we needed a short lease. We almost signed the electronic disclosures that were sent, which increased our rent by more than $1,000 per month, but decided to ask a manager that had been sent here from another property. We were then informed that they could not raise our rent and we could go month to month, due to a policy the city of Seattle had in place to protect residents during COVID. So, we were allowed to go month to month and keep our same rent. Shady that they just sent an email with the raised monthly rents, but didn't explain our rights. So glad we did not sign.
No ethics, no concern for residents. And this coming from a company that is owned by a very wealthy person---now, we know what helps contribute to the wealth.
I do not recommend leasing from Holland and I can honestly say I would never consider living on one of the owned/managed properties again.
A shout out to Kizzy - who practically ran the place and kept it clean and organized while the rest of the staff hid in the office or worked from home.
