Well you can’t use a debit card to pay your bill. You have to pay with cash, check, or money order. Ever since covid, they’ve shut their office down completely and you have a little doggy door to pay through. In the past 4.5 weeks, I’ve been over there a total of 7 times now to pay our bill. 4 out of the 7 times there has been a lady (Karen), sitting behind the counter doing something on the computer and then one of the times there was a guy sitting there in a chair. I’ve gone there at the same time each time (3pm) after picking my son up from school. The other 2 times I was there and Karen had people at the door filling out paperwork for garbage service. The customers were having to use the door to fill out the paperwork. Finally on the 7th time there (Friday 12/30/22), I put $100 cash in an envelope and sealed it shut and put it in the night time slot. I know thhey received it because Karen had just finished her lunch and was running in the door to get it locked. I have no idea who is in charge of that place but they need to get things up to date, such as allowing people to use a debit/credit card and OPEN YOUR OFFICE so people can fill out paperwork and pay their bills. You’ve always had the plexi glass barrier up way before covid, so what’s your deal with not opening your office for people? It’s now 2023, get with the times already people.

I LOVE HOMETOWN SANITATION!!! Kevin always has a smile, and Karen is always so polite, professional and helpful, I cringe imagining how other reviewers must have behaved on the phone to have not have had a positive experience. (Or maybe they work for competitive companies?) I've always had good reliable service, and as a local company, they do their best to keep their costs low to keep rates as low as possible to better serve those in the community that a few dollars more in their bill would mean less food on their plates. While it is a slight inconvenience to not pay with a credit card, if it helps keep rates low for those with small or fixed incomes, then I'm happy to make a little extra effort to help. Thank you Hometown Sanitation for your efforts to best serve our little town of Hoquiam!

Tried to pay our bill because we work out of town during their work hours and they said they only except cash. I can’t take a day off work and lose $150 for the day. Every business we know of excepts cards even if their was a convenients fee I’m fine with that but just offer it. I remember when hoquiam sanitation first started here in hoquiam it was great now it seems like the customer service has went way down from the lady in the office to the men on the truck. Things could be way better than they should be.
