It's sad what Hot Topic has turned into.... New owners... So now it's all preppy... it's sad. I can't be the only one who misses the old gothic store. Anyways, went in. Decided to get a hat. The last hat like it! We were walking around looking at other things.. I was carrying 2 Build a Bears. The girl who was walking around with a tablet, I assume was "lost prevention" because she was literally doing nothing.... but walking in circles. Thinking she's so high mighty.... She asked if she could "hold our purchases up front." I know what this means... you don't trust me....I say " sure, I only have one thing... but ok. Here ya go!' and hand her my huge floppy hat.... that no way in hell could hide, even if I wanted too..... She then STARES AT ME.... looks me up and down. Because God forbid I carry a Chase or Seahawk Build a bear. Clearly not from here!!!!! She then proceeds to stare at us the whole time we are in there...
Anyways, went to check out, they were not watching the front counter despite multiple employees around. And Ms. High and Mighty on her tablet who's walking around. Some girl came up, snatched my hat, ran it to the back of the store to go hide it on a shelf, in the back. I sent my husband to go get it from her. The girl walked past the girl with the tablet. She looked at her with the hat, and didn't attempt to do anything. Even watching my husband clearly trying to get the girls attention. Literally other staff even knew I got the last hat, because they sold out so fast! Employees were watching them, because even the cashier said she wanted one. But she was happy I got it. If you are going take people's purchases and put them front. Maybe you should WATCH THEM!!!! The only reason I saw the girl take the hat, is because we were in line. It was the last hat, and literally the our only purchase besides a sticker and pins we found by check out.
Hubby got the hat back. We checked out. We walked out... will we be back? No.... if I want something, which will be a small chance. I'll get it online. The employees are RUDE!! and don't pay attention.
