This hotel is pretty good for the price. The best way I could describe it is “run-down, but with staff that are actively fighting against the run-downness.” The room was clean but the furniture and stuff could use an upgrade. The gym facility is small but good, the breakfast spread is 🔥 could always count on eggs and bagels in the morning with a choice of breakfast meat (CHICKEN sausage on some days which I love as someone who doesn’t eat pork/beef!). They also have free laundry which is cool. While we were there, there were staff members painting to improve the appearance of the hallways/common areas, and the front desk staff kindly let us check in early. I will say, I read another review saying that a ground floor room was very noisy and I could definitely see that being a possibility. Luckily we were on the 3rd floor, there is some street noise but the AC/fan covers it up for the most part. There are multiple stores in the area within walking distance which was very convenient. Overall, it was a relatively affordable and quality place to spend 5 nights.
Guys seriously do yourself a favor. Please read the negative reviews and know that it is not overboard. I had a cruise out of Seattle and chose to stay here for 2 nights despite reading the reviews because sometimes people can be over sensitive.
The staff were very friendly. First impression of the room was that it was very clean and large with good amenities like TV, microwave, mini fridge and a real king size bed.
We checked in late at night and after changing as we got in the bed, I realized that the pillows were horrible- no hotel style soft pillows. The bed is hard too, but I don’t mind it as much. 4 hours into the sleep, I was woken up by cars pulling into the front parking of the room (I was given a room on the first level). Then all the doors closing made so much noise, it was like someone had parked inside of the room.
And all morning the door kept slamming- perhaps the cleaning crew or the guests leaving for breakfast, but I only got 4 hours of improper sleep.
The breakfast area is too small and can get crowded. There was a guest with a small yorkee sitting next to us, which was rather out of place. Breakfast spread was decent though.
Day 2: after a busy day of sightseeing, my 8 year old and I retired at 10:15 PM and were woken up by non stop chattering next door and a kid banging the shoe cabinet door constantly. I tried to sleep through it, but the noise is SO SO loud. I called the front desk and they said they would send the security. No use- I still hear a wailing baby, a super excited boy, and 2 females chattering non stop at 11:21PM They are not loud, but the rooms are so close and the walls so thin, that it feels like all this is happening in my room.
After 4 hours of sleep the previous night and a full day of activity, if you want to rest and relax, this is DEFINITELY not the hotel for you. I wish Google would let me include videos, you guys could hear their family affairs like they are in my room.
