In-Shape has changed my life. It's wonderful to have a place to go where everyone is welcoming and non-judgmental. They have an impressive team of employees that are constantly moving and keeping everyone happy, super hard workers all around. There is a wide variety of machines and cardio equipment, a massive pool and hot tub, relaxing sauna, and massive training spaces. They recently remodeled and it looks amazing. I rarely cannot get a machine I want and there are always sanitizing supplies available. I have a membership that grants me entry to all active and lifestyle clubs and this is still the only gym I go to

This gym has experienced a decline since Covid. The removal of most paper towel dispensers has been quite inconvenient, leaving only three or four through out the gym that are frequently out of paper towels. Additionally, there is a room with worn-out carpet that desperately needs replacement since it is all torn up . Proper ventilation is lacking, making workouts uncomfortable at times. The bottles sanitizing are often empty that should frequently need to be refill Overall, these areas need improvement to provide a better gym experience for members and to attract more member and it would even attract more members is there are a one , or two free day pass and also more incentives for members .

New member. I’ve been a member for a month now. I originally visited planet fitness because their costs are a lot less but they don’t offer any Zumba classes or any other group exercises. In-Shape has the Zumba classes. I struggle with consistency and don’t really like exercise but Zumba classes get me in the door. I go 3-5 times a week now. I absolutely love Ana V’s classes. She’s there Wednesday through Friday (G St location) so I’m there too. She’s approachable and her routines are fun and vary in hardness levels. She always smiles and encourages. So prices are a bit on the higher end and it was a tough decision for me to join. I now believe it’s worth it. I still struggle getting myself to the gym, but knowing I will get a great workout dancing with Ana and the group has been a great motivation. I also love Tony’s class Monday evenings. His was the first class I took my first day back at a gym and I felt exhilarated. Both Tony and Ana’s song selections are right up my alley. Their routines are so much fun!
Improvements: Saw more than a few cardio machines out of order, and the safety cord is missing on a lot of them. Had a hard time finding stations, they didn’t stand out for me, and some were out of supplies.
