I'm struggling to find the right words to describe the gorgeous works created by Jess, but here is my greatest try-
I first found Jess' work while at a Heartful Rootz market. I was feeling particularly homesick and her creations moved my heart. Her ceramic work is stunning and soulful in equal measure. I purchased a planter from her that day and filled it with a plant I might find around my Ojiichan's garden in Uchinaa, which was a soothing experience (when they say art heals, it truly does).
A few months later, I found that Jess also offered classes and have had the greatest pleasure of being a student under her wisdom and care. In taking classes with her, it's easy to see why her works drew me in that day at the market- she puts so much love and intention into her work. Each piece is infused by, what I can only describe as a magic all her own- her whole heart, body and soul goes into moving earth into the shapes you see and it's a magic you will feel when you bring your piece home.
