We experienced water damage during the wind storm this past winter. I requested repair quotes from three different companies. Two of them suggested “patch work” for the affected corner and assured us the rest of the roof was fine. However, this company was the first to conduct a thorough inspection by entering the attic. They showed us photos and explained the extent of the damage, which was far more significant than the other companies acknowledged.
We decided to replace the entire roof and are very happy with the results. I was on a tight schedule due to a long-planned extended trip, but they managed to fit us in. They began the day before we left and completed the work within a few days. I arranged for a friend to lock our gate once the job was done, and I received daily updates with detailed pictures via text. They provided drone pictures as well as pictures taken by the roofers themselves. Even from long distance I felt assured that our property was being respected.
We returned three months after the roof was finished. I had a few questions about some lights that weren’t working, and they sent someone within the hour to fix the problem. Even three months after completion, the company remained attentive and helpful, which is rare once the payment is settled.
Zak was very respectful and provided detailed explanations throughout the process. He gave us the time and space to make our decision without any pressure. They also offer financing, and the approval process was quick and straightforward.
Several neighbors have complimented the work and asked for the company’s name. I have no reservations about recommending them. Usually, I feel the need to warn people about potential issues, but in this case, I have nothing but praise for this company.
We had our roof replaced by Bates but IRC is the company who fixed their mistakes and made it look like professionals had done it.
Our house is 3000 sf and Bates roofers replaced the roof, 6 sheets of plywood and 4 skylights in a day and a half with 4 roofers. Several flaws stood out, and after stewing for 3 weeks I decided to hire IRC as an independent appraiser instead of asking Bates to come back and check it out, since we weren't in a position to push back on any pushback!
For both esthetics and durability, IRC advised the higher profile ridge cap since we're right up from the Narrows and high winds are common. In the process of replacing that, they found that all the ridge vents had been installed with pneumatic nail guns instead of hammers and all had large holes and cracks, which could lead to future leaks - not warrantied. Additionally, they found:
1 of 4 skylights was missing a row of shingles none of the screws were covered with roofing sealant none of the air vents were lead capped One patchwork of roofing was covering up a misplaced nail Several nails were showing on the edge of the shingle above and IRC applied roofing sealant
If we had hired IRC in the first place we would have been about $2K ahead, had the professional job we thought we were hiring and been confident that the actual roofers were actual employees. That's a big deal.
