Island Lumber really came through for us in an emergency, in particular the absolute stellar employees Alex and Denise. In the middle of a cold spell we unexpectedly ran out of propane in our RV. That would've normally been a survivable situation because our family member could just move into the main house for the evening, but we learned on my way to the store that they had just had a close contact covid exposure at work, and they thus needed to quarantine immediately. With elderly visitors from out of town there was no way we could bend those rules. Because of the delay in responding to the covid exposure, I got there shortly after 5pm, when the propane team leaves for the day. I was absolutely devastated to leave my frantic family member literally freezing in a time of calamity. Alex and Denise were compassionate and helped me stay calm as they figured out a plan of approach. They contacted supervisors to make sure they were not acting out of turn in getting my emergency resolved, at great inconvenience to them. They were so kind in explaining everything to me as they proceeded to navigate the system to make sure that I was sent home with propane that I could use to make my family member's quarantine warm and safe. Thanks, Alex and Denise for being really stellar employees and people who went far above the bare minimum with such grace!
