Not only is their BBQ the BEST ever, their staff is amazing! Shelby and Jenny were awesome and made our whole day with their kindness. Seriously, I think Shelby should get a gold badge as Supreme Meat Counselor. We wanted to get some to-go meats as sides to elevate a Cajun crab boil, and not only did Shelby set us up, she went into detail about what the best flavor profiles would be to best compliment our plans and culinary ideas. She was a total genius! I walked out the door with an extra spring in my step, confident that I was bringing the perfect items back to my dear friends who were celebrating a special occasion. I can't wait to come back and enjoy more of Jack's amazing barbecue, and I'm telling the honest truth when I say more than half of it is to see Shelby again and get more life advice on MEAT. Thanks a million, Shelby!!!!
OH, and go ahead and splurge on the insane collard greens. They are worth every single penny!
Everyone says the service sucks on these reviews, but they had a power outage when I walked in around 11am. That didn’t stop the ladies from being so attentive and sweet! They also forgot to add my cornbread, so when they gave me another one to make up for it when I came back.
Prices are fair, as far as the portions go. Taste, however, wasn’t there.
Now, the brisket had one side that was sorta dry, soft and the other side that was tough. It did lack flavor, too thin on the fat and not enough salt on the bark, but it did have a lot of pepper. Again, good portions but didn’t live to the hype.
Mac n cheese was unique, but not something I would normally get.
The cornbread butter was to die for, but the cornbread itself was dry and had a sour flavor to it.
Overall, food was below mid and service was amazing. Just my honest review. Might give it one more try, but not any time soon.
