Unfortunately we had a very poor experience with Jacobs. For the last couple of years, we've had them come out to do routine service on our heat pump and furnace. The service tech, Rodney, was always rather odd and eccentric, telling us to hose off this, pour vinegar in that, and we're good to go. He actually took up a lot of our time with these strange dissertations, which was frustrating. We were paying for maintenance services – which really shouldn’t require us to babysit the technician. Our A/C has seemed to be less and less effective over these past couple of years, but slowly. We were like frogs in boiling water, until this last heat wave, when it was clear that our A/C wasn't working at all. We called out Jacobs, and Rodney came out, literally rapped his knuckles on the exterior cover of the heat pump, and told us we needed a new one. For a $175 service call, we would have expected an actual assessment of the equipment. We called another company and they came out, did an assessment, and replaced a major valve - it was a spendy repair and a day's work, but waaaay less expensive than a full replacement. Our A/C is working great now, and we feel cared for. Not only were we fleeced by Jacobs and Rodney for $175 for this last service call, but also for routine maintenance and assessments they were supposed to be doing, over the years, but weren't. Furthermore, they wanted to replace only the heat pump, but now we’ve learned that both the heat pump and the furnace would need to be replaced together, and if not, they will not be able to communicate and work effectively together. We were getting set up for catastrophic system failure by Jacobs. Thank god we smelled a rat and sought a second opinion. We tried to call and speak with someone at the office, but true to other reviews, the receptionist said they would have someone call us, but no one ever did. We’re very disappointed and frustrated by Jacobs and their poor service, lack of professionalism, and inability to perform basic assessments, repairs, and maintenance. I do not recommend them at all.

I called to ask Jacobs to clean my furnace and a couple of vents, and not only were they “booked out” but they wouldn’t clean a dryer vent. It’s misleading when that’s a service they say they provide. I went with a small family owned business eager to help, and got it done quickly, thoroughly and with a good attitude. I’m glad I was turned down, because it led me to MP.

I have had my heating and cooling systems at several different homes serviced by Jacobs over the years and I’ve always been very happy with their services. Today, Kellan came out to service the heat pump at my new home and as usual, the service was thorough, efficient, and Kellan was very helpful in showing me how to change and clean the filters and writing down the ID number for the filter so I can purchase a new one when needed. Highly recommend!
