Intense hike with a big payoff.
Lots of traffic so plan accordingly.

Started our hike at 5:30AM at the Tucquala Meadows Trailhead. 3 miles before you arrive to the trailhead the you have to drive through water about a foot deep so be very careful. The first 3 miles of the hike are flat and easy, after that it starts to get a little more rocky and you start to gain some more elevation. The trail was snow free. It took us 3 hours and 15 minutes to get to Marmot Lake and then an hour to get to Jade Lake from there. The toughest part of the hike is Marmot Lake to Jade Lake, you have the hike through a very overgrown trail at times and then you have to hike up steep, loose rocks. The views at Jade Lake were amazing and I wish I could have been camping up there. Took us 4 hours to get back to the car from Jade Lake. Round trip 24 miles and 4,656 feet elevation gain.
