Dr. Eichel has been our family doctor for over 20 years, providing excellent care for my father, mother, and sister. Last year, my wife Maia and I also became patients of Dr. Eichel, expecting the same level of care. However, we have faced significant difficulties in accessing appointments to establish care. On two separate occasions, Dr. Eichel's staff scheduled urgent care visits for us over a year in advance, which is simply unacceptable.
My wife is low in iron and needs regular labs to monitor her iron levels. Her last labs were done at a different institution well over a year ago, and the staff cannot order labs for us through Dr. Eichel without first establishing her as a patient. Despite being part of Stanford Health and having all her medical records accessible to his team, the staff could not provide an appointment to see Dr. Eichel within a reasonable timeframe. This situation has been incredibly frustrating and disheartening.
