We ordered a king size mattress from the JC Penney Spokane Valley store on July 1 with my JC Penney credit card. Later I lost my card and ordered a new one. When my new card was ordered, it apparently cancelled my July 1 payment. I ended up paying for it again on July 12. JC Penney did not notify the shipping company to deliver our mattress when we paid for it on July 12. It is now July 25, the mattress has been sitting in our town since July 12 they tell me and they just sent an email to the delivery company because I was calling them constantly. Apparently their shipping carrier only gets emails once in awhile because their system doesn't update for a couple days at a time. This is the story I am being told. When I ask to speak to a manager, I am told all the managers are conveniently in a meeting. All those customer service representatives that were talking with me on the phone since July 12, apparently did NOTHING to notify the shipping carrier to deliver our mattress. We are beyond frustrated and will never shop at JD Penney again.

I have visited this store several times in the last few months. It was terrible, a literal ghost town with sub par service and less than helpful staff. On April 12, 2024 I was pleasantly surprised by the store this time. The clerk that was checking at about 4:00 pm on that day by the mall entrance was pleasant, helpful and sweet. She deserves recognition because she stands out like a bright yellow flower in a field of green grass. She was a pleasure!

I feel bad that I'm not sure if I am remembering my retail agent from the jewelry department. I think her name was Madeline. Knew what silver I was looking for and was so incredibly friendly. No pun intended, but she is a jewel herself. JCpenney, I hope you know what a rockstar you have. I will be returning for the Black Friday sale and will track her down to take care of me. I am so sorry I was late with the in house review.
