Updated review Clean, quiet, and well stocked JC.Penney. With exterior entrance, no need to go through the mall to access. Always surprised by how many great clothes I purchase when visiting. Employees always around folding and restocking makes it easy for questions.
I go out of my way to give positive reviews but in this case, if I could give negative stars, I would. My family paid for my window coverings when I bought my house in 2018. JC Penney sent their staff out twice to professionally measure my windows and and both times, the blinds sent were cut incorrect. The first time they reordered them and I figured stuff happens and it would be fixed but I was wrong; they did it again and tried to blame the blind company. Over four years and countless phone calls later, I still have the incorrectly measured blinds. Countless phone calls were not returned; I understand in the pandemic they stopped sending people out to measure but as things opened up, I expected they would help fix the problem. I was wrong. As a healthcare provider in the pandemic, I was working very long hours but took time from my schedule to drive to JC Penny, where i was treated like an inconvenience, hoping to resolve the problem in person since my calls had gone unreturned. The managers Jenny and Fred are perhaps the rudest I’ve ever encountered. I wish I could have recorded the conversation when Fred said “we’re not replacing the blinds” before I even had a chance to describe the problem or offer to send him pictures of the finished “work”, which I’m including in this review. This is what you can expect for your home’s finished product, costing thousands of dollars, if you choose JC Penney. No one there cares whether you’re satisfied or not or whether the job is done correctly at all. I will never buy anything from this company ever again. It’s easy to see, from their shoddy workmanship and rude employees, why the business is struggling.
EDIT-JC Penney's reply to this, to contact the 800 number is a great example of my experience. I did reach out to them for assistance many months ago, the pictures speak for themselves. They said they could not help me and that I had to speak to the local Washington Square store that did the original sale. Which is when I had the pleasure of talking with store manager Fred, who was also completely unwilling to help me, even after I emailed him the pictures and had my stepmother write to him to confirm that a JC Penney employee had come to my house and taken the incorrect measurements.. Consumers beware.
