I have been incredibly blessed to have 2 of my birth attended by Jenn. I interviewed 5+ midwives before I was even pregnant, and Jenn was clearly the person for me. She showed me compassion, strength, and trust in me as a competent woman. I could tell early on that she and I were in sync on our birth values, and on the extremely rare instance we didn't agree, I felt 100% comfortable telling her why and knew my choices would be respected. That made my ease and trust in Jenn increase tenfold. When I was in labor, Jenn was a comforting presence, neither too close nor too far. It was NOT easy, but with Jenn there we shared laughs, she shared her wisdom with me, and I was able to have the homebirth VBAC I hoped and planned.
When I was pregnant again, I looked no further than Jenn. She had moved to her own practice (Woom to Room) and I happily followed her. Again, I was struck by the perfection of community midwifery: the companionable appointments that never felt rushed, the focus on truly informed decision making, the consent driven model of care that first drew me towards her. It's no understatement to say Jenn had a huge impact on my satisfaction with both my VBAC and 2VBAC and will always hold a warm place in my heart.
