I was 28 weeks pregnant and had to switch drs. I was nervous at first but pense is hands down one of thr best out there. I showed up at the hospital at 10cm dialed and she was by my side. She has continued the help and health for both of my kids now 3 and 2, i would recommend her to anyone.

I'm pregnant with my first child, and also plus size. I'm in great health and have no prior history with diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart conditions. I know there is bias in the medical community so I scoured the internet for a plus size friendly Dr. that would treat me based on my health markers and further testing rather than just my BMI. I saw that Dr. Pense wrote a statement about wanting her patients to feel comfortable, and heard without be judged. I immediately knew I wanted to work with her. I called to schedule and appointment, and had to wait 40 minutes on hold, but it was going to be worth it. I told the receptionist about my concerns and she said she'd send that over to the Dr.'s office so that they could call me to schedule the appointment. I didn't receive a call, so called back two days later to see if there was an update. After another 40 minute hold I was told that Dr. Pense's office wouldn't see me because my BMI was too high and they don't handle high risk pregnancies. They knew I have no medical history of any health problems, but still wouldn't schedule the appointment. I'm writing this in case there are other plus size people who are looking for a Dr. who will work with them based on their actual markers of health.
