Brought my Wife, kids and immediate family here from the west side of the state all the way to Ellensburg just for this experience. We go every year to a corn maze/pumpkin patch in king county, but decided to find one in Ellensburg (where we hope to move to soon). Thought this would be a good way to 'break the ice' with the family, getting comfortable with eastern washington living.
We were extremely happy with our visit! We've been seeking a quieter, more relaxed event, but still memorable and that's exactly what we got. Extremely friendly staff AND customers. Just a very relaxed overall, lots of smiles and friendly people and conversation with an overall fun experience.
In king county we'd spend 30 minutes just waiting in line to buy our pumpkins, but at Jensen Farms we were able to recoup that 30 minutes instead enjoying some family time at the numerous farm activities. Not a single line anywhere! The pumpkin buying process was super quick and simple, pretty sure we paid half as much as we normally would.
We had 4 young kids with us who fully enjoyed all the kid activities and every single one of us adult 'west siders' literally spoke the same comment, that we were really surprised and happy with how relaxed the whole experience was. We were able to drop our guard the whole time (no worries about drugs, theft, etc...felt super safe).
So if you are looking to get away from the stress of the westside chaos that is present at pretty much every pumpkin patch, definitely check out Jensen Farms in Ellensburg. We were blessed with the opportunity to speak with both the owners (husband and wife) who were very friendly and positive. Plus the staff was great, kept everything clean, no garbage anywhere, everyone was verry respectful and just having a great stress free time.
We also appreciated the subtle humor of the signs on the drive in and all of the farm animal descriptions. :) So happy to see Baby Doll sheep (we intend to buy some of our own once we move to Ellensburg!).
Thank you Jensen Farms! You helped create a new lifelong memory for our family (all 9 of us!).
